Cathy Hayward appointed interim editor of FMJ

Cathy Hayward hi resCathy Hayward, managing director of Magenta Associates, has taken on the interim editorship of FMJ magazine. The news follows the departure of FMJ’s former editor, Simon Iatrou, to rival i-FM.net.

Cathy will edit the title on a part-time basis while FMJ’s new publishers, kpm media, begin the search for a new editor with the skillset and passion to take FMJ to the next level. Cathy will oversee the recruitment process and will continue to be involved while the new editor settles in.

“I am delighted to be going back to my journalism roots, albeit for a short period, and look forward to continuing to develop the FMJ brand,” Cathy said. “I know that Andy Brown managed, very successfully, to create Chinese walls between his PR business and FMX magazine, when he edited the magazine. I hope very much that I can emulate that and continue to work within the FM sector as both an editor and a PR professional.”

Caroline Hill, news editor and social media manager at FMJ, welcomed Cathy to the FMJ fold: “We are all very grateful that Cathy has agreed to help us out at such short notice. Cathy is such a highly regarded figure in the industry. Her proven expertise and ongoing contribution to the FM industry not only through her role at Magenta and FM World but also as deputy chair of BIFM London region and her key involvement with many industry events including Think FM, means she was the ideal choice to take on this interim role and we are delighted to have her on board!”

“We have exciting new plans for the publication, and we look forward to building these ideas with the new editor and sharing them with our valued readers,” she concluded.
