We’re proud to be partnering with City St George’s, University of London on its industry-led projects programme. The initiative connects businesses with talented students who are eager to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges, and for us at Magenta – an employee-owned B Corp – it’s a natural fit. Supporting emerging talent and helping to build better, more responsible workplaces is at the heart of what we do.
The benefits of industry-led projects are two-way. We’ll gain access to a diverse pool of talented students, bringing creativity, energy, and new perspectives to projects that deliver tangible value.
The students will gain real-world experience, mentoring from academics, and the chance to build professional relationships. In past years, many students have received job offers from their project partners, thanks to the quality of the work they produced.
At Magenta, we’ve seen first-hand the impact of working closely with universities. We’ve worked with institutions including King’s College London, the University of Sussex, and Sheffield Hallam University.
We’ve also given talks to students at London Metropolitan University, the University of Westminster, Solent University, and The University of Brighton, and have taught pro bono at King’s Academy Ringmer and Cardinal Newman College.
We’re keen to support the next generation of talent and champion responsible innovation. That’s why we’re thrilled to be partnering with City St George’s on two forward-looking projects.
Exploring the future of AI in communications
Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing how we create, share and consume information. For our first project with City St George’s, students will explore what these shifts mean for the communications industry and for agencies like Magenta. They’ll look at how creative teams are experimenting with new tools, how media consumption is evolving, and what responsible adoption might look like in a people-centred business.
Their insights will help us consider new opportunities, highlight potential risks, and ensure that our approach to AI remains ambitious, relevant and aligned with our values as an employee-owned and ethical organisation.
Embedding ethical and sustainable AI in the workplace
Our second project takes a broader perspective, asking how organisations can embrace AI responsibly. Students will examine the ethical, legal and environmental questions businesses need to be asking – from fairness and transparency to sustainability and trust. Guided by academics, they’ll develop ideas and resources that make it easier for employers to navigate this fast-changing space with confidence.
This work supports our mission to promote responsible communications and positions AI not just as a tool for efficiency, but as an opportunity to build better, more sustainable ways of working.
Shaping the workplace of tomorrow
These projects are about much more than academic experience. They are part of a wider movement to connect higher education with business, and to ensure that the next generation of professionals are equipped to thrive in a world defined by rapid technological change and sustainability challenges. For Magenta, they also reinforce our role in leading the conversation on responsible communications and ethical AI.
We’re excited to see the outcomes from our collaboration with City St George’s and to continue building bridges between industry and academia.
